MISSION STATEMENT

The Centerville Band Department, in partnership with families and the community, educates all students to be lifelong learners and responsible citizens through the performing arts.


Centerville is a small, rural community in East Central Indiana located six miles west of Richmond. Centerville-Abington Community Schools includes four schools: one Pre-K-2 elementary school, one 3-6 elementary school, one 7-8 junior high school, and one 9-12 senior high school. Enrollment in the corporation is approximately 1700 students.

The band department includes 131 students in grades 7-12. Unique to our program are technology-driven enhancements to our classes and offering jazz ensemble for course elective. Lastly, we believe that a rigorous curricula has driven our students toward individual and organizational success in Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) festivals, Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) contests and the Indiana State Fair Band Day.
